  6. The first part of the Cyberventure trilogy (soon to be followed by 
  7. Sensorer and Icebreaker).

  9. Enhanced is a science fiction text adventure set in a cyberpunk 
  10. environment, complete with your first opportunity to experience 
  11. cyberspace.
  12.  
  13. As Enhanced begins, you are trying to survive yet another day in the 
  14. big city with no money, no job and no hope.  Walking down the street 
  15. in the government research project area, you suddenly see a sign that 
  16. you haven't seen before.

  18.     "Volunteers needed for military research project!
  19.  
  20.     Do you want to make money?
  21.     Do you want to help your country?
  22.     Can you start at once?
  23.  
  24.     No special skills needed.
  25.     Enter here."

  27. Since you think that all of the items on the list fit you perfectly, 
  28. especially the part about needing money, you enter the door indicated 
  29. on the sign and sign up to be a research subject.
  30.  
  31. You have to fill out and sign a multitude of forms, asking you about 
  32. all sorts of things from what grades you had in school to if you have 
  33. any friends or relatives who know where you are.  Once you finish all 
  34. the boring paperwork you are lead through a lot of white-painted 
  35. corridors, all alike.  Finally, you emerge in what looks like a 
  36. surgery.  You are made to lie down on an operating table where you are 
  37. tied down and covered with green cloth.  You see a plastic mouthpiece 
  38. being lowered down over your mouth and you feel yourself floating 
  39. away...

  41. When you come to, you find that some things about you have changed.  
  42. You also find that the people doing the research seem to regard you as 
  43. some kind of prototype, not a human being.  Perhaps it would be good 
  44. for your health if you could get out of this mess...

  47. Enhanced is shareware ($10) and runs on Macintosh, PC and various 
  48. flavors of Unix.  If you register your copy, we will send you a 
  49. diskette with the latest release of Enhanced, a booklet with hints to 
  50. help you complete the game and also the complete TADS 2.1 source to 
  51. the game.
